About this event:
When a child isn’t sleeping well, the effects can reach far beyond bedtime. Healthy sleep plays an important role in your child’s learning, behavior, regulation, mood, and overall well-being. But when sleep becomes a struggle, knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.
Join Joanne Searle, Behavior Analyst and Behavioral Sleep Practitioner, for an approachable introduction to pediatric sleep for parents and caregivers of children from toddlerhood through age 12, and a closer look at what may be happening when sleep isn’t going as expected.
Together, we’ll explore:
- Why healthy sleep matters for toddlers and school-age children, and how sleep can influence the way children learn, behave, regulate, and feel throughout the day.
- Why sleep gets complicated, including common factors that can contribute to bedtime struggles and nighttime waking.
- Understanding the “why” behind sleep challenges, looking at patterns and what may be happening before and after bedtime or nighttime waking.
- Why individualized support matters and why there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to pediatric sleep.
You’ll leave with a better understanding of your child’s sleep, a new way to think about sleep challenges, and practical questions to help you begin looking at the whole picture rather than simply trying another sleep strategy.
